Changing Or Cancelling A Booking

Can I cancel just one person on my booking and keep the trip for everyone else?

Answered by Narendra

Often yes, but not always, because it depends on the rules of the airline, hotel or transfer supplier your booking is held with, so we cannot confirm it until we check your booking.

Flights and hotels work differently here. Flight tickets are usually issued per traveller, so one person can sometimes be removed while the others keep their seats. Cheaper fares may not allow any change at all, and on some fares removing a traveller means the remaining tickets are repriced, which can cost more than the original booking. Hotels and transfers are normally priced per room or per vehicle, so taking one person off may not reduce what you pay, and in some cases the room type or vehicle size needs to change instead.

The best thing to do is contact us as soon as you know, and tell us the trip and which traveller is no longer coming. We will ask the airline, hotel or supplier what they allow, then come back to you with what is possible, anything you would get back, and any charge for the change. Nothing is altered until you agree to it. Please do this before the travel date, because once the service has gone unused there is usually very little anyone can do.

Even if no money can be returned for that traveller, it is still worth telling us so the names on the remaining documents are correct at check in. If the person is dropping out because of illness or another unexpected reason, check their travel insurance, as that is sometimes the only route to getting money back.
